Dear colleagues

Thanks to the Lord of the worlds for once again providing us with this opportunity to organize the 8th Symposium and the 22nd Meeting of the Scientific Academy of Periodontology of Iran with the help of our intelligent and capable colleagues.

This great scientific event, with the presence of prominent domestic and foreign speakers, provides the opportunity for colleagues to exchange the latest scientific achievements in the field of periodontology, implant and digital dentistry.

Holding this gathering with a view to the future of periodontology will allow discussion about digital dentistry, cell therapy, gene therapy, as well as the role of AI, ChatGPT and the virtual world, and will provide a warm environment for scientific discussions and exchanges in this field.

One of the most important challenges for the officials of the Iranian Academy of Periodontology and the organizers of this meeting is the issue of oral and dental health and maintaining its supporting tissues. In general, health is the most important capital for all-round development in any country. 

Unfortunately, due to the lack of attention to oral and dental health, we see a high prevalence of periodontal diseases in the country.

In this regard, one of the most important concerns of the organizers of the congress and the academy is the use of new technologies to maintain and restore the health of the periodontium.

Another one of the most important challenges of the new board of directors is to provide a suitable solution for communication between the old, middle and new generations of the association members.

We hope that with the help of the young generation, whose activity we see in the association and congresses, this matter will come closer to reality.
